Airport Appreciation and Fly-in Day @ Western Nebraska Regional Airport

The  public is invited to the Western Nebraska Regional Airport Saturday to take part in the annual Airport Appreciation and Fly-in Day, sponsored by local chapter 608 of the Experimental Aircraft Association.

You’ll see a variety of general and experimental aviation planes, as well as military aircraft.

The event runs 7:30 a.m. to noon  and will include breakfast by the Kiwanis Club and food vendors and more

For eligible kids ages 8 to 17,  free airplane rides as part of the Young Eagles program.

Monument Valley Iris Show

The Monument Valley Iris Society will host their annual Iris Show and Sale at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center.

Entries, including those from non-Society members, will be taken from 7:30am to 9:30am.  The judging takes place at 10:00am, then the show will open to the public Saturday 1pm to 5pm and then on Sunday from 11am to 4pm.  There is no charge to enter iris in the show, and no charge to attend.  

Attendees can purchase iris which will be available for transplanting to your garden later this summer.
