Enjoy a meal and fellowship with the folks from Calvary Lutheran Church!  The BBQ includes your choice of garlic sausage, roast beef, or hot dog, with baked beans, chip and drink.  Then top it off with ice cream, pie or a brownie.  Tickets are $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for 10 and under and $3.00 for dessert.

On Sunday the 9th, the BBQ will run from 11am to 5pm with live music from noon to 2pm!

The 35th annual volleyball match will be at WNCC’s Cougar Palace starting at 2 p.m.  MT.

It’s the 42nd year of the football game and kickoff at Bearcat Stadium in Scottsbluff will be at 7 p.m. MT.

Tickets are available at the gate at both venues.

Second Annual Veterans Ride @ Gering

Bring you motorcycles and join in the fun for the second annual Veterans Ride. The ride will be held Sunday, June 9th , with registration from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the Oregon Trial Roadhouse in Gering.
The proceeds from the ride will go to the Veterans and Military Family Emergency Relief Organization (VMFERO), which helps veterans and military families in emergency circumstances.
The cost of the ride is $15 per person or $20 for a couple. The ride will include several stops in the panhandle, starting at the Oregon Trail Roadhouse, and continue on to Beer and Loathing in Kimball,
The Rock in Sidney, Frankies Bar in Bridgeport, Pink Palace in McGrew, and back to the Oregon Trail Roadhouse. All levels of riders are welcome!
VMFERO is a local organization that provides financial aid and support to area veterans and military families that run into emergency situations. The aid includes rent, utility bills, medical, food, and other basic needs. Over 95 percent of the proceeds goes directly to helping veterans in the panhandle of Nebraska and a small portion in eastern Wyoming.

Fortis Boy Choir Spring Concert @ Scottsbluff

Community Fishing Night @ Terry's Lake - Terrytown

Sponsored by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, events will be held at venues across the state. Look for the Family Fishing Trailer, or a gathering of NGPC Staff and volunteers, where loaner rods and reels, bait and fishing instruction are available free to participants.

This is the perfect opportunity for people of all ages who have never been fishing or have not fished for years to learn. All participants ages 16 and older need a fishing license (OutdoorNebraska.org for permits).

Donate used durable medical equipment

Donate “no longer needed” gently used durable medical equipment to people in need.  Independence Rising is an organization that loans durable medical equipment to individuals with a disability or are recovering from an illness or surgery.

Examples are wheelchairs, walkers, canes, seated walkers, bath benches and chairs, toilet risers and commodes.

Independence Rising is an Independent Living Center located at  Northfield,  2350 Five Rocks Road in Gering.

Equipment rents for $10/per item for 4 months, if after 4 months the equipment is still needed it will be an additional $10/per item for another 4 months.
