Nebraska Extension will host a Farm Bill education meeting Oct. 24 at the Kimball County 4-H building from 8:30-11:30 a.m. This meeting is free and open to the public. The 2018 Farm Bill, signed into law last December, reauthorized the existing Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) safety net programs that were in the 2014 Farm Bill. However, producers will need to make new program enrollment decisions over the coming months.

While the ARC and PLC programs under the new farm bill remain very similar to the previous farm bill, a few program changes coupled with changes in market conditions and outlook could significantly impact producer decisions.

The room is recommended for ages 10 and up, but we encourage parents to judge if it is suitable for their child.

Sessions will run on Friday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m.; Saturday October 26 at 12:00 p.m.; 2:00 p.m.; 4:00 p.m.; 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.; and Wednesday, October 30 and Thursday October 31 at 4:00 pm, 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled time.
